I secondi, gli Annihilation Time, provengono da gruppi totalmente diversi tra loro (In Control, Holier than thou, Kinfe Fight). il nuovo cantante degli AT ha suonato il basso nei grabbies per un pò... bel ragazzetto, sul palco sfoggiava look + movenze 200% syd vicious, poi mi pare si sia trasferito a los angeles o comunque a sud... e forse si è un pò ripigliato (?!?)  jimmy jimmy... oooooh, jimmy jimmy... album unappruved in quanto ristampato da...  :P |

Nce sò cazzi è la mia città... è anche il mio t.a.t.u. :P dai, non mi far postare le foto che poi passo per l'esibizzzionista che non sono non ho tirato su tanta roba hc ultimamente. mi è capitato il 7" dei neon maniacs su puke'n'vomit records, che però c'hanno una matrice decisamente vecchio pancherocche. poi stamattina è arrivata una valiglia piena di 45 e 78 giri di mia zia direttamente dalla sua soffitta... speravo in qualcosa di più sostanzioso... i singoli dei beatles sono messi malissimo... sul resto si sono ben distinti i giganti col b-side 'na guagliona ye'-ye' :D garage 69 m'ha fatto venir voglia di the sound: jeopardy è un album tendente all'enorme... consiglio vivamente a tutti gli scaricatori gay-wave che se pittano le unghie de nero. |

Mi sono impossessato del nuovo fiammante 7'' dei Singing Dogs: Suck The Dog EP sulla veneranda P.Trash. Secondo me è un gioiello come già gli altri dischetti di questi disperati che, insieme ai misconosciutissimi Wild Weekend (ma non doveva uscire un LP?! :blink: ) sono i migliori gruppi trash-punk'n'roll italiani. L'aggiunta del basso è stata definitivamente assorbita in un suono più "voluminoso" e maturo, e il risultato sono 4 tiratissimi pezzi r'n'r; il seguito perfetto di LADF, il singolo su Lo-Fi. Qulacuno che li faccia suonare lungo le rive del Po??  |

Isocracy - Bedtime For Isocracy (7", Lookout! Records, 1988) Sgangheratissimo punk rawk, con influenze '77 US punk, da Frisco. Tre pezzi da saltare sulla poltrona (Rodeo, Hippie Man, Amilyplympt Tree) e alcune cazzatine di contorno. Gli Isocracy sono il classico gruppo che nasce e muore attorno a un locale, in questo caso il Gilman, suonandovi una settimana si e l'altra pure. Leggende narrano di concerti finiti a colpi di sacchi della spazzatura. Riporto para para la recensione dei Meatmen fatta dal mio amico Jacopo per Roma violenta, perchè mi ha letteralmente strappato le parole di bocca, stavo giustappunto per scrivere qualcosa su di loro. I Meatmen, capitanati dall’ineffabile Tesco Vee, sono una delle bands meno conosciute tra i “classici” del periodo aureo dell’hardcore. Fautori di un hardcore-punk piuttosto generico e musicalmente poco innovativo, avevano un unico vero punto forte: un umorismo assolutamente puerile, politicamente scorretto... e francamente esilarante! Nel corso della loro lunga carriera, militarono nelle fila dei Meatmen personaggi piuttosto noti dell’hardcore americano, tra i quali Todd Swalla (Necros), Brian Baker (Minor Threat, Dag Nasty, Bad Religion), Lyle Preslar (Minor Threat, Samhain), Graham MacCullouch (Negative Approach), Bert Queiroz (Youth Brigade, Rain) ed altri. Consigliati vivamente i CD “Stud powercock:the Touch & Go years 1981-1984” (che raccoglie dischi classici come “We’re The Meatmen... and you suck” e “Crippled children suck”) e “War of the Superbikes I & II” (che unisce il disco omonimo dell’85 con nuovi pezzi registrati all’inizio degli anni ’90). Da avere inoltre la raccolta/ristampa che la Selfeless Records fece della fanzine Touch & Go, pubblicata da Tesco Vee nei primissimi anni ’80, e che divenne il modello per moltissime fanze hardcore successive, oltre a trasformarsi nell’omonima etichetta (il cui controllo fu rapidamente assunto da Corey Rusk, ex-bassista dei Necros, che a tutt’oggi la dirige). “They’re The Meatmen... and if you like good music get the **** out of here”  |

anvedi i meatmen... qui si potrebbe riaprire un dibattito senza fine sulle affinità/divergenze tra l'idea di hc e quella di punk in quegli anni pre-spartiacque invece tommy mi ha fatto scendere la lacrimuccia... quel 7" me lo infilarono anni addietro in un pacco di roba lookout, quando la lookout ancora poteva permettersi un mailorder ;) |
